Adelphi Hosts Apprentice Challenge: Business Conference for Local High School Students

Garden City, NY (11/01/2024) — Adelphi University will host young aspiring entrepreneurs in its annual Apprentice Challenge: Business Conference, on Friday, November 8. This event will bring together students from 26 local high schools, who will compete in a day-long competition showcasing their strategic marketing skills. The conference will be held at Adelphi's Garden City campus, starting at 8 a.m.

Over 245 students from Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens will be divided into teams, tasked with assembling a strategic marketing plan based on a case study. These plans will then be presented to a distinguished panel of judges, consisting of Adelphi alumni, faculty, staff, and representatives from the Metropolitan Golf Association.

To ensure the participants are well-prepared, expert business faculty from Adelphi's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business will provide valuable insights on key marketing components and guide the students on successfully creating their marketing plans. This year's partner, the Metropolitan Golf Association, will present the case study.

Now in its eighteenth year, the Apprentice Challenge has been a platform for talented and ambitious students from high schools across Long Island since 2007. More than 3,119 "apprentices" have participated, including those who have studied marketing at the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business. Adelphi business graduates have gone on to become some of the region's top marketing leaders, working with renowned brands and companies.

The Apprentice Challenge: Business Conference is part of Adelphi University's Annual High School Special Event Series, which aims to provide unique learning opportunities for high school students.
