Adelphi Men's Lacrosse National Champions Head to White House July 22

Garden City, NY (07/18/2024) — For just the second time, the White House will welcome NCAA national champions from across the country to the South Lawn for a ceremony on Monday, July 22, celebrating their accomplishments as part of College Athlete Day. The Biden administration invited every national champion in 2022-23 for the first installment of this type of event. Members of Adelphi University's Men's Lacrosse Team, who recently won the NCAA Division II Championship, will attend.

Adelphi student athletes will embark for Washington, D.C. early Monday morning and arrive at approx. 9 a.m. Staff will be providing a tour of the White House before the ceremony begins on the South Lawn at 11:15 a.m. Following a break for lunch, Adelphi will head over to the Capitol building for a tour and potential meet and greet with Congressman Anthony D'Esposito - who serves New York's 4th District- and/or his staff.

A number of the athletes attending the trip to the White House are Long Island and/or New York natives.

4:00 AM - Depart Adelphi

9:00 AM - Arrive in Washington, DC 9:30 AM - Tour of White House

11:15 AM - College Athlete Day Ceremony- Jack Hipchen (Senior, Hoffman Estates, Ill.) has been selected as Adelphi's on-stage representaive. Dylan Renner (Senior, Roslyn Heights, NY) will be the alternate.

12:30 PM - Lunch
1:20 PM - Tour of Capitol Building
3:00 PM - Potential meet & greet with congressman Meeks (Queens District, Adelphi '75) TBD

3:00 PM - Depart Washington, D.C.

7:30 PM - Return to Adelphi
