Adelphi Annual Golf Classic to Honor Long Island Community Leader

Garden City, NY (05/09/2024) — On Thursday, June 6, Adelphi University will host its 36th Annual Golf Classic at the Pine Hollow Club in East Norwich, New York. The event will raise funds in support of Adelphi University.

This year's classic will honor Mark S. Davis '85, audit and assurance partner at Deloitte and Touche, LLP. Davis, a native of East Meadow, New York, is a highly accomplished leader with 38 years of diverse management and executive experience with Deloitte, the world's largest professional services firm. His community leadership includes chairing the American Heart Association of Long Island and serving on the board and committees of NYU-Winthrop Hospital.

Davis received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Adelphi University and is a past recipient of the University's Accountant of the Year award. He is an active member of the President's Advisory Committee and of the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business Dean's Advisory Board, and is also establishing the Mark S. Davis '85 and Family Future Leaders in Accounting Endowed Scholarship Fund, which will provide invaluable support to future generations of accounting students at Adelphi University.

The golf classic will start with registration and brunch at 11 a.m. with afternoon shotgun at 1 p.m. This year, there are two new exciting additions, the women's golf and tennis clinics, which are for all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned players. This 90-minute instruction session will start at 3 p.m. The golf classic will conclude with a cocktail reception in the evening followed by a ceremony recognizing this year's honoree and a presentation of awards and raffles.

Adelphi graduates from 2009 - 2023 have the opportunity to take advantage of discounted opportunities to participate in the golf classic.
