Adelphi Earns Four-Star Rating in Money's 2023 Best Colleges
Garden City, NY (07/10/2023) — In Money magazine's just-released "Best Colleges of America 2023," Adelphi University garnered a solid four-star rating for its educational quality, affordability and the earning power of its graduates. This year, Money analyzed 26 data points-including graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid and alumni salaries-for the 736 colleges that qualified for the ranking out of nearly 4,000 colleges and universities in the United States.
Taking a new approach this year, Money's list of top colleges gives universities a rating between 2.5 and 5 stars as opposed to the numbered rankings of years past. It noted the shift recognizes that there are multiple ways for a school to provide value, and multiple "best" colleges to suit a student's goals and priorities. Less than 5 percent of qualifying schools received a five-star ranking. A full explanation of the new methodology is available on the magazine's website.
"These four stars reflect the value of an Adelphi education," says Kristen Capezza, MBA '12, vice president of enrollment management and University communications, adding, "Our students and their families can be confident in the rich hands-on learning, mentorship and distinct resume-boosting experiences they'll gain while at Adelphi, all while being nurtured into successful professionals for the next generation of work."
To be considered for inclusion in Money's rankings, schools must have a minimum of 500 undergraduate students enrolled, sufficient data that allows for analysis, be financially secure and possess a graduation rate at or above the median for its institutional category.
Adelphi, consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a best college in the United States, was recently recognized as a College of Distinction and was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll.
