Adelphi Grad Writes, Directs the Comedy Film 'Friendsgiving'

Writer and director Nicol Paone, originally from Lyndhurst, New Jersey, currently resides in Los Angeles.

Garden City, NY (11/19/2020) — "Friendsgiving," a new film featuring Jane Seymour, Kat Dennings and Wanda Sykes among others, is written and directed by Adelphi University alumna Nicol Paone. The holiday comedy, produced by Ben Stiller, opened on October 23.

The perfect antidote to this year's unconventional Thanksgiving, Paone's new film is "a surprisingly charming and hilarious approach to a traditional holiday," according to a review in The New York Times.

Paone came to Adelphi on a scholarship and played softball and soccer, majoring in psychology and graduated in 1994. "I cherish my days [at Adelphi]," she said, adding that she got into the entertainment business through a fellow University student.

She has appeared in various film and television productions. "Friendsgiving" is her film writing and directorial debut. The movie is available on Amazon Prime, iTunes, Redbox, Fandango and other movie on-demand services.
