Adelphi Nursing Moves Up in U.S. News Grad Rankings by 22 Spots

Recognition Adds to the University's Positive Rankings by Various Organizations

Garden City, New York (03/30/2021) — Master's programs in nursing at Adelphi University come in at 109th nationally on the recently announced 2022 U.S. News and World Report Graduate School Rankings -- up from 131st in last year's list.

U.S. News' latest review compares 220 nursing programs nationally. Adelphi is one of 11 from the state of New York to be ranked among the top 166 (the remainder are listed alphabetically).

"This continued improvement in national rankings validates the tireless efforts of our faculty, staff and students," said Elaine Smith, EdD, dean of Adelphi's College of Nursing and Public Health. "An improvement in rankings, while faculty and students experienced unprecedented challenges, is a testament to the commitment and resilience of our community."

Altogether, U.S. News surveyed 597 nursing schools with master's or doctoral programs accredited by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The nursing master's programs were evaluated based on quality assessment (by peers and professionals in the field), research activity, faculty resources, and student selectivity and master's program size. See more about the methodology -- and the complete rankings.

Adelphi's College of Nursing and Public Health offers master's degree programs in adult-gerontology, nursing administration, nursing education, and psychiatric mental health, as well as other graduate and undergraduate degrees in numerous areas of healthcare. Learn more at adelphi.edu/nursing.

The new rankings add to the many positive rankings Adelphi has been awarded this year for graduate and undergraduate programs by U.S. News, Princeton Review, Colleges of Distinction, INSIGHT Into Diversity, The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education, College Factual and Business Insider, among others.
