Adelphi Offers Tuition-Free Sport-Based Youth Development Fellowship in NYC

Garden City, NY (02/02/2023) — Adelphi University's College of Education and Health Sciences is now accepting applications for its Sport-Based Youth Development Fellowship. Offered at Adelphi's Manhattan campus, the innovative program provides a pathway for a tuition-free master's degree.

The Sport-Based Youth Development Fellowship, which includes partnerships with sport-based organizations in/around New York City, has provided more than 40 graduate students with valuable experience in the field while the organization pays for their tuition. Past participating organizations have included Kids in the Game, Play Rugby USA, New Amsterdam Fencing Academy, Row New York, Ice Hockey in Harlem, and Vita Sports Partners.

"This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field, while developing the knowledge and skills in the classroom that prepare students to serve in leadership positions across the sports industry," said Meredith Whitley, PhD, associate professor and coordinator of Adelphi's Sport-Based Youth Development program. "If you are passionate about harnessing the power of sport to change kids' lives, then I encourage you to apply!"

The deadline to apply for the fellowship is March 15.
