Adelphi PAC Announces Larson Legacy Concert Featuring Award-Winning Composer Dylan MarcAurele
Garden City, NY (02/18/2026) — Adelphi University's Performing Arts Center (PAC) is set to host its latest Larson Legacy Concert on March 7, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the Olmsted Theatre, featuring acclaimed composer and 2025 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Dylan MarcAurele. This event continues Adelphi's tradition of showcasing emerging talents in musical theater.
MarcAurele, recognized for his innovative contributions to the genre, will present selections from his current projects, including the critically acclaimed musical "Pop Off, Michelangelo!" which recently enjoyed a successful run in London. His work has been described as "camp, clever, queer and endlessly entertaining," reflecting a fresh perspective in contemporary theater.
His Larson Legacy Concert at Adelphi will feature a cabaret-style showcase of music from past productions (like "Pop Off, Michelangelo!") and future productions (including his upcoming parody musical "Heated Rivalry" that sold-out its performances in a matter of hours). Joining him for this concert will be Taylor Fagins, Mateo Chavez Lewis, and Yael Rizowy.
A New York City-based writer and composer, MarcAurele's portfolio spans performances in major cities such as New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Provincetown, and Edinburgh. He is also known for creating the popular Instagram account @rhonymusical, which boasts 27,000 followers. MarcAurele is a member of the Theatre Now New York Writers Lab and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Harvard University.
The Larson Legacy Concert Series, established in 2015, honors the memory of Jonathan Larson, the creator of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical "RENT" and a 1982 Adelphi alumnus. The series aims to support and nurture the next generation of musical theater creators. Past participants have included notable artists such as Michael R. Jackson ("A Strange Loop," "White Girl in Danger," "Teeth"), Max Vernon ("K-Pop," "The View Upstairs"), Zoe Sarnak ("The Lonely Few"), and Benjamin Velez ("Real Women Have Curves").
Tickets are currently on sale online, with discounts available to seniors, students, Adelphi alumni and employees. This performance will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
