Adelphi PAC Presents Jane Martin's Critically Acclaimed 'Talking With'

Garden City, NY (04/30/2021) — Jane Martin's award-winning play "Talking With" will hit Adelphi University's Black Box Theatre from May 6 to 8. The play will be directed by Nicholas Petron, professor and chair of the theater arts department, alumnus Anthon Mondesir '14 and Carson Ferguson, a senior theater major at Adelphi.

Made up of 8 monologues, the play introduces the audience to a variety of women -- from a woman fixated on light and lamps to a woman in the throes of childbirth, an ex-rodeo rider and an old woman who claims to have seen a man healed by a Big Mac. Equally humorous and touching, the play invites the audience to share in some of the most intimate experiences that women have with their parents, spouses, lovers, children and with themselves.

Martin's 1982 play premiered at the Manhattan Theater Club in New York and was the recipient of the 1982 American Theatre Critics Association award for Best regional play.

The performances will be livestreamed on Thursday, May 6, and Friday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. There will be two shows on Saturday, May 8, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. "Talking With" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

The event is free, but registration is required. For more information and to register, visit adelphi.edu/events/talking-with.
