Adelphi Presents Fall Dance Adelphi: Ballet and Contemporary Dance

These performances will be streamed live at Adelphi's Performing Arts Center (PAC) from Wednesday, November 18, through Saturday, November 21.

Garden City, NY (11/13/2020) — Being home doesn't mean you can't indulge in dance. The Department of Dance at Adelphi University is proud to present Fall Dance Adelphi, a program of virtual performances bursting with ballet and contemporary dance. These performances will be streamed live at Adelphi's Performing Arts Center (PAC) from Wednesday, November 18, through Saturday, November 21.

Guest-Artist Winston Dynamite Brown will bring his visceral style to the production, examining the human condition and our relationships to each other through dance. Brown is an experienced dancer who has performed with The Metropolitan Opera, Pilobolous, Paul Taylor 2, Camille A. Brown, Sean Curran and Company, John Higgenbotham, Albany-Berkshire Ballet, and more. He is founder and artistic director of The Dynamite Experience, a platform aimed to impact underrepresented communities. He also has taught dance at many institutions domestically and internationally.

Fall Dance Adelphi will also include ballet and contemporary works choreographed by Adelphi faculty members. Notable this semester are the works by Professor Adelheid B Strelick, whose multi-media work features new music by adjunct faculty composer Carson Moody and films developed with Marlee Fleisher (2021). Jennifer Kreichman's ballet this semester was developed in collaboration with musician Bradlee Harris. Orion Duckstein, associate professor and dance department chair, Frank Augustyn rounds out the program with restagings of popular favorites.

The performances for all dates will begin at 7:30 p.m., live-streamed from Adelphi's Olmsted Theatre. This event is free but tickets are required.
