Adelphi Recognized by Colleges of Distinction and Phi Theta Kappa for Extraordinary Efforts

Garden City, NY (06/22/2023) — Adelphi University has been recognized for its exceptional student support initiatives, programs and postgraduate success by two prominent organizations: Colleges of Distinction and Phi Theta Kappa.

Recently, the University received 2023-2024 Colleges of Distinction accolades as a New York State College of Distinction and in categories that included Business, Education, Nursing, Career Development, Military Support, and Equity and Inclusion. Colleges and universities undergo a rigorous vetting and interview process by Colleges of Distinction, which serves as a trusted resource for prospective students, families and college counselors.

"We believe that engaged students are successful students," said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. "Adelphi's dedication to experiential learning shows us that each of its students has the opportunity to play an active role in their education."

In addition, Adelphi was named for the seventh consecutive year to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Roll, which recognizes excellence in the development and support of dynamic and innovative pathways for transfer students. Awarded to just 208 colleges and universities in the United States, the Honor Roll includes only the top 25 percent of colleges that apply for the distinction.

"The PTK recognition exemplifies Adelphi's commitment to its transfer community," said Kristen Capezza, MBA '12, vice president of enrollment management and University communications, adding, "Through efforts like our new Transfer Tuition Guarantee program and expanded articulation agreements, we're putting an Adelphi education in reach and committing the resources necessary for transfer student success."
