Adelphi Theatre Students Present "Melancholy Play" - February 28 through March 5
Garden City, NY (02/07/2023) — The talented students of Adelphi Department of Theatre will perform the contemporary farce Melancholy Play at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) for seven performances from Tuesday, February 28, through Sunday, March 5. The play, directed by Adelphi alumna Shoshanah Tarkow, follows the charming story of a young woman named Tilly whose sorrow is so appealing that no one can resist falling in love with her.
The contemporary and quirky comedy about sadness by playwright Sarah Ruhl is both irreverent and sincere as it looks at melancholy, love and the space for grand emotions in our world today. Audiences are sure not to feel any melancholy of their own and leave the theater smiling.
Melancholy Play takes place at Adelphi's PAC's Black Box Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28; Thursday, March 2; Friday, March 3; and Saturday, March 4. A Wednesday, March 1, show will run at 6:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. matinees will take place on Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5.
Tickets are $25 with discounts available to seniors, students, alumni and employees. For more information, call Lucia and Steven N. Fischer Box Office at 516-877-4000 or email boxoffice@adelphi.edu.
