Adelphi to Celebrate 125 Years of Transformative Education at President's Gala

Garden City, NY (05/26/2022) — Adelphi University will toast to its 125 years of innovation and transformation at the 22nd Annual President's Gala on Saturday, June 11, at the Garden City Hotel. In honor of Adelphi's milestone anniversary year, the event will celebrate the University's legacy, its students, and all who help make possible its mission to transform lives.

The event will also include special recognition for Adelphi's Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology, which is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its doctoral program. A heartfelt tribute to Adelphi's history of supporters and inspiring stories of transformation will be shared by benefactors and students.

"Our 125th year was very special because two landmark things coincided for us," said Adelphi's President Christine M. Riordan. "Our community celebrated Adelphi's milestone anniversary and came together to envision our future and next strategic plan. We're excited to begin Adelphi's 126th year with visionary goals that build on our legacy and address our quickly changing world. With our amazing network of friends, faculty, staff, and alumni dedicated to supporting our students' success, we are proud, excited, and ready to be building tomorrow, together."

Net proceeds from the Gala will support the President's Student Success Scholarship. The endowment ensures that Adelphi juniors and seniors who experience financial hardship can stay on track to complete their degrees. There are currently 369 juniors and seniors who have unpaid balances and are in need of financial support.

The Gala will begin at 6 p.m. For tickets and to support student success, visit adelphi.edu/gala.
