Axiom Brass Returns to Adelphi PAC Stage with Concert, Masterclass

Garden City, NY (09/08/2021) — Award-winning brass quintet Axiom Brass will return to Adelphi University's Performing Arts Center (PAC) for the first major concert of the fall season. The in-person concert will take place on Friday, September 24, from the Westermann Stage in the Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. The event will also be live-streamed.

Axiom Brass is internationally recognized for their groundbreaking programming and repertoire ranging from jazz to Latin music to original compositions for brass quintets. The group's captivating performances have led to national radio and television appearances as well as concerts in Asia, Europe and across the United States.

Their concert programs regularly pair newer works by composers such as Rouse and Sampson with traditional works by Monteverdi and rousing tangos by Piazzolla. This September, Axiom Brass will present the world premiere of David Lipten's "Waits and Measures" and the New York premiere of Kari Watson's "Alloys".

The program will include centennial celebrations of two giants of the music world, Astor Piazzolla and Geroge Walker as well as music from Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, India and the USA, exploring over 400 years of musical history.

Tickets for the Axiom Brass concert are $30 each. Tickets for the live-stream cost $15.For more information and to purchase tickets, visit adelphi.edu/pac.

Patrons of these events will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside the PAC. They will also need to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test for admission.
