High School Students to Attend Spring Virtual College Awareness Day at Adelphi

Garden City, NY (05/03/2021) — Adelphi University will host its Spring Virtual College Awareness Day on Monday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Over 400 students between the 6th and 12th grades and faculty and chaperones from eight schools and organizations will attend the conference-style event.

Schools and organizations attending include Evergreen Charter Middle/High School in Franklin Square, MS 340/ North Star Academy in Brooklyn, New Heights Middle School in Brooklyn, PS 212 in Brooklyn, PS/MS 124 in Queens, Robert H. Goddard High School in Queens, The Scholars' Academy in Queens and YMCA in the Bronx.

Designed to educate and excite students about the college experience, the event will provide high school students with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their future. The event will also feature college-readiness workshops led by faculty, staff and administrators from Adelphi as well as provide students with tips from our experts about admissions requirements, the application process, financial aid, academic programs, the benefits of college and more.

Throughout the day, students will also be introduced to the concept of having a personalized academic and professional plan for the future. They will be encouraged to think about their dreams and discuss the steps they can take to achieve their goals by filling out "I Have a Plan" cards.

The event will conclude with a student-guided virtual campus tour.
