Acclaimed Choreographer Keigwin Featured in 'Dance Adelphi' Productions
Garden City, NY (04/09/2021) — Acclaimed choreographer and curator Larry Keigwin will lead students from Adelphi University's Dance Department for the spring season of Dance Adelphi. The performances will take place live from Adelphi's Olmsted Theatre from Tuesday, April 20, to Sunday, April 25.
Keigwin, who founded Keigwin + Company in 2003, is well-known for his works with the Metropolitan Opera, on Broadway and in clubs in downtown New York. He is celebrated for his electrifying and refreshing vision of dance that embodies wit, style, and heart. He will bring his unique brand of clever, brilliantly sculpted and highly entertaining work to his collaboration with Adelphi.
Adelphi faculty Orion Duckstein, associate professor and chair of the dance department, together with Adelheid Strelick, assistant professor, will also create new contemporary pieces for the event. Adelphi's Frank Augustyn, associate professor of dance, will restage excerpts from a classic ballet and Juan Rodriguez, adjunct faculty member, will round out the program with high energy works originally created for a group of Adelphi Dance majors.
Shows from April 20 to 24 will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday, April 25, show will begin at 2 p.m.
The event is free but registration is required for each livestream. For more information and to reserve admission, visit adelphi.edu/pac.
