Adelphi PAC presents: 'The Spitfire Grill' February 26-March 2
Garden City, NY (02/07/2025) — From February 26 through March 2, Adelphi University's Performing Arts Center (PAC) will present the musical adaptation of The Spitfire Grill, a heartwarming and inspirational musical tale of redemption, perseverance and family. All performances of The Spitfire Grill will be held in Adelphi PAC's Olmsted Theatre.
Based on the 1996 film by Lee David Zlotoff, The Spitfire Grill follows a troubled young parolee yearning for a fresh start and follows her dreams to Wisconsin, based on a page from an old travel book, only to find a small town with a gritty heart aching with longing and regret. Unexpectedly discovering the healing power of community while working at the Spitfire Grill, Percy reawakens the entire town's capacity for rebirth, forgiveness and hope. Set to a melodic folk-inspired score, The Spitfire Grill is a joyous celebration of human kindness.
The production will be directed by Lily Kanter Riopelle with music direction by Steven Altinel. The music and book are by James Valcq with lyrics and book by Fred Alley. This production is presented in arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
