Adelphi Students Will Compete in Shark Tank-Style Business Plan Competition on March 7

Business Plan Competition Winners Receive Cash Prize to Start Their Business

Garden City, NY (03/04/2025) — Adelphi University's students will participate in the University's annual Shark Tank-style Business Plan Competition on Friday, March 7. The competition will take place in Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center, Room 113-115, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Adelphi's Business Plan ompetition allows students to explore entrepreneurship, develop skills, turn their ideas into viable business ventures and receive feedback from industry mentors. This year, 13 students will present their business proposals in front of a panel of business leaders and Adelphi faculty members.

Finalists are competing to win $11,000 in cash prizes to start their business: $5,000 for first prize, $3,000 for second, $2,000 for third and a $1,000 award for best socially responsible approach.

This year's judges will include:

Mark & John Cronin, Co-founders, John's Crazy Socks

Michael O'Donnell, Clinical Assistant Professor Decision Sciences & Marketing, Adelphi's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business
