Adelphi to Present Conference Showcasing Research, Scholarship, Creativity
"Dr. Raven the Science Maven" to Keynote the Conference
Garden City, NY (04/13/2022) — Hundreds of Adelphi University students from across the academic disciplines will share their work at the annual Scholarship and Creative Works Conference on Tuesday, April 26, at Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center. This year's keynote speaker is Raven Baxter, PhD, aka "Raven the Science Maven," an internationally acclaimed educator and molecular biologist.
The day-long event will celebrate the efforts of students and their faculty members by expanding the classroom learning experience through research. Students will build presentation and communication skills, learn to discuss their work and engage with other scholars, and develop an appreciation for scholarship and what it contributes to society.
"The conference for scholarship and creative works is a unique event where faculty, students, alumni, and staff celebrate the achievements of our graduate and undergraduate students across disciplinary boundaries," said Alexander Heyl, PhD, Adelphi associate professor and conference organizer. "The conference is an important community-building event, and I am especially excited this year to return to the in-person venue."
