Adelphi University's Online Master's in Education Programs Achieve U.S. News Best Online Ranking Status

Garden City, NY (01/27/2026) — For three consecutive years, Adelphi University Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences' online master's in education programs have earned a spot in the U.S. News & World Report's 2026 Best Online rankings. This year, Adelphi's graduate education programs ranked in the top 52% of universities across the country. Consistent inclusion in this ranking exemplfies Adelphi's ongoing dedication to providing high-quality, accessible education to a diverse student body.

The programs within the College of Education and Health Sciences include a diverse suite of online graduate programs for educators and health professionals. Within the Master of Arts (MA) track, students can pursue specializations in Art Education, Educational Technology, English Education, Literacy, Social Studies Education, TESOL (Bilingual/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language) Certification and Technology Education as well as Educational Theatre (offering both P-12 certification and storytelling tracks). For those pursuing a Master of Science (MS), the Adelphi provides specialized degrees in Special Education, Sport Management, Nutrition (for current RDNs) and Nutrition and Dietetics (for aspiring RDNs).

"This recognition affirms our commitment to designing programs that expand access for all students," said Xiao-Lei Wang, PhD, dean of Adelphi's College of Education and Health Sciences. "It reflects our focus on curriculum innovation and student experience, and we are proud to see our collective efforts recognized nationally."

In developing the Best Online Bachelor's Programs rankings, U.S. News assessed online colleges based on four general categories: engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and peer assessments. Together, these categories measure student and instructor interaction; student retention and graduation; availability of technology for distance learning, support services and financial aid resources; online instructors' qualifications; and a holistic perspective on program quality provided by deans and directors at peer institutions.

According to U.S. News, online education is no longer just an option for many students due to full-time employment and family responsibilities-it has become the norm. Experts say colleges and universities are poised to offer and develop even more online degree programs. Advancements in technology, course design and high-speed internet availability are moving online learning forward.
