New Music Series Returns to Adelphi PAC on March 1

Garden City, NY (02/26/2024) — Hub New Music forges new paths in 21st-century repertoire with its "to hear the things we cannot see"concert to take place at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Friday, March 1. Hub New Music has been called "contemporary chamber trailblazers," by the Boston Globe and a "nimble quartet of winds and strings," by NPR.

Founded in 2013, Hub New Music has commissioned dozens of new works. Its ambitious commissioning projects and "appealing programs," (New Yorker) celebrate the rich diversity of today's classical music landscape. The ensemble continues to usher in a fresh and culturally relevant body of work. Its distinct combination includes the talents of Michael Avitabile on flutes, Gleb Kanasevich on clarinets, Meg Rohrer on violin/viola, and Jesse Christeson playing the cello.

The repertoire will include: Angelica Negron, Pedazos intermitentes de un lugar ya fragmentado, Tyshawn Sorey, For Alvin Singleton, Adelphi's Sidney Boquiren, Three Meditations (World Premiere), Marcos Balter, Young Blood and Nina C. Young, to hear the things we cannot see .

Hub New Music: to hear the things we cannot see will take place at Adelphi's PAC at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $30, with discounts available to seniors, students, alumni and employees. For more information call the Lucia and Steven N. Regular box office hours are Wednesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and the box office is also open two hours before all ticketed performances.
