Adelphi Graduates and Twin Sisters Katherine and Isabel Marsh Set Track Records
During the course of their Spring 2023 (and final) season at Adelphi University, Katherine and Isabel Marsh won races at multiple intercollegiate meets, including 800-meter, 1,500-meter and one-mile contest, among their other track and field achievements. Majoring in management and marketing, respectively, Katherine and Isabel's accomplishments are a result of the pair's commitment since high school. This academic year, Katherine won an 800-meter race in a personal-best 2 minutes, 8 seconds, was named the NE10 Indoor Female Track Athlete of the Year in 2022, and earned silver medals in the 800 and 1500 at the NE10 Championships. Her time of 4:30.26 in the 1,500 set an Adelphi record. Isabel set an Adelphi outdoor record by finishing an 800-meter race in 2:08.93 at Bucknell University in April and qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships and placed 13th overall in the 800. She also earned gold medals in the 800 and 4 x 800 relay, a silver medal in the 4 x 400 relay and a bronze medal in the 1500, all at the Northeast-10 Championships. In 2022-23, the Marsh sisters both made the Northeast 10 Academic All-Conference team and competed in the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in February, which saw Katherine finish 10th, making second-team All-America, and Isabel's seventh-place finish earning her first-team All-America honors. Their achievements were commended by Panthers track and field head coach and assistant athletic director Katie Rees '05, MA '06.
